Spider-Man TAS - Spider-Man meets the Beyonder

PLEASE READ.....A little backstory on the Secret Wars and explaining some differences comics-wise*

I'll be posting vids from the Secret Wars, so I figure I'll give a little explanation for those who have never read the original Secret Wars.

Spider-Man is given the task of leading the forces of good against the forces of evil on an occupied alien planet by the mysterious Beyonder.

Let me start by saying in my opinion, this was the worst storyline by far in Spider-Man TAS. As you can tell, the animation and story wasn't up to par as this was the final season. The original Secret Wars was much like this one, a battle of good and evil, with the Beyonder being the ringmaster. Originally, the cast was to be set up much like the comics, but due to time constraints, much had to be dropped. For example, the Hulk was to be in the wars, but was replaced with the Lizard. The entire X-Men were to be in and they were supposed to have their own episode, but only Storm's voice actor was able to make it to the voice recording sessions. Black Cat, Red Skull and Invisible Woman weren't in originally, as well as the Tony Stark Iron Man, who was replaced by Jim Rhodes aka Iron Man II/War Machine.

The cast of villains were also much different in the comics. They weren't predominantly Spider-villains. Spider-Man was made the leader of this group of heroes, when originally Captain America lead the heroes into battle, with the X-Men being somewhat neutral, and the villains led by Doom. Doom also steals the Beyonder's powers like he did in the comics too and repairs his face, but becomes a cosmic level threat in the process. But he is stopped by Spider-Man and his team. The Beyonder in this series also looks nothing like he did in the comics. He has a mullet, mustache, a suit of armor, and glowing yellow eyes. In the comics he is never shown in his true form, and inhabits the villain Klaw's body to wait for his chance to steal his powers back from Doom. Also, and probably the most important part of the Spider-Man mythos....the Secret Wars is the first appearance of the black costume/symbiote, as Spidey gets it after his costume is shredded during a battle with a chick named Titania. Of course, that was too convuluted, so the space shuttle origin was invented for the symbiote.

There you have it, some Secret Wars backstory. I'll have clips of the actual battles later on.
